7 Essential Hunting iPhone Apps

While it might not have a trigger, your favorite mobile device can certainly assist you on the next hunt.

Whether it’s an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad, applications have been developed to help hone your hunting skills. A duck call, GPS, record keeper, photo album and your basic mindless entertainment may all be found on our can’t-live-without hunting apps list. Intense games for the avid hunter as well as a plethora of hunting calls and sounds, all just a click away.

Before we tell you more, we must give a shout-out to American Hunter for helping us jump start our list. Now, without further ado …

Where’s My Tree Stand? – $0.99

Make use of your GPS-enabled iPhone’s built-in maps application to locate your treestand. Keep a list of each of your treestands or favorite hunting spots in order to navigate to each exact location on your next hunting adventure. Do note that this app is not compatible with the iPod touch or iPad.

Big Buck Hunter Pro – $2.99

    We developed sportsmantracker.com after using the current apps available. We weren’t satisfied so we tried to make a free software for the hunting community tht was better than the paid apps. Let us know if you agree. Sportsmamtracker@gmail.com

    i have the Isolunar hunting and fishing app…. not happy with it… needs more work and in 38 hunts this past season the feed and move times were never correct.
    app needs work and improvements.

    Looks like the app MY Duck Log has added waterfowl identification and has plans to go on the Android market.

    A new duck hunting app has entered the market for iPhones/iPads. My Duck Log is a very simple app to record hunting results. It tracks your daily results and tallies them for a running total, by species. Hopefully there will be other features added. Tracks ducks and geese.
